How long is the class?

2 hours.

You are welcome to come early or stay after to use our wifi and relax at the cafe.



You can also use this time to ask questions about Mexican cuisine with our bilingual chefs and bartender!

How far is Cafe Jaguar from the Costa Maya cruise port?

2 miles, about a 10 minute drive

How much is the taxi from the Costa Maya port?

$5 usd per person. 

What food do we make?

tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo

choose pork, chicken or vegetarian

you season and make your own meat marinade, pico de gallo and guacamole!

Is beach access included?

Beach access is free throughout the whole downtown.  You can freely walk along the beach and enter the water.   

We have free beach view streefront patio and restaurant seating but we do not have direct beach and lounger seating.

Beach and lounger seating is available without a reservation from the restaurants on either side of us, by purchasing a drink. 

Can I swim at the beach before or after the cooking class?

Yes! The beach is just out front from our cafe!

The second largest barrier reef in the world is right out front and auctually very close to shore!

This creates calm water without strong waves that is fun and easy to float and relax in. 

The ocean is sandy bottom and we are at a section of the downtown that is nice and clean. 

Bring your own snorkel or borrow one of ours! 

We have clean washrooms for changing in, lockers or safely leave your larger bags with Lisette at the bar.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes!  Just let us know!  We have lots of experience with guests with allergies, preferences and celiac disease fully enjoy our class!

Our tacos are pork loin but you can change to chicken breast, or, vegtarian

To accommodate for religious, allergy or lifestyle dietary restrictions we cook pork, chicken and vegetarian each on separate grills.

How do I get back to my ship?

We have a main downtown taxi stand steps from our cafe! 

 When you are ready our staff can quickly connect you with a direct taxi back to the port.

Our excursion is accessible and safe for any age and ability!

If you have children ages 0 to 5 they can come for free just let us know.



If you have friends and family that do not wish to take the class we can provide restaurant, bar or patio seating for them and they can order from our reasonably priced drink and snack menu and use our wifi.
